Data deletion
There are two paths to delete the data Postmatic holds about you and about your Instagram accounts. Both are immediate.
1. Delete the account in the dashboard
Sign in at postmatic.dev, open Account and click Delete account. This deletes the organization, the project, the connected accounts (including access tokens), the posts, the images and videos, the webhooks, the comment automations with their trigger history (including the data of people who commented), and the API keys, and removes your user from our login provider. Instagram tokens are not revoked on Meta's side, because the API does not offer that operation: for that, use path 2.
2. Remove the app on Instagram
In your Instagram settings, under Apps and websites, remove Postmatic. Meta notifies our deauthorization endpoint and the access token is deleted right away. When Meta sends us a data deletion request for your account, it reaches our /v1/meta/data-deletion endpoint. Right away, we delete the access token and the profile data we received from Meta (username, picture, and account type) and deactivate the connection for that Instagram account, also deleting its comment automations and the trigger history, with the data of people who commented. Only the account's numeric identifier is kept, so we can recognize a new request from Meta and let you reconnect later. Posts, images, and history remain in your Postmatic account until you delete the account (path 1). We return a confirmation_code, which you can look up at https://api.postmatic.dev/v1/meta/data-deletion/<confirmation_code> to check the status.
If you are the person who commented
If a comment of yours triggered an automatic reply, write to privacidade@postmatic.dev with your Instagram username, and we delete the data of that interaction. Either way, the username, the comment text, and the answers are deleted automatically 90 days after the trigger.
Timeline
Deletion in the database is immediate. Database backup copies expire within 30 days.
