HOW TO INTEGRATE

From the API key to the first event.

  1. 01

    Create an API key

Sign in to the dashboard, create a key and send it in the header of every call. The dashboard is where you watch what the API does.

  2. 02

    Connect your customers' accounts

Request the authorization URL, redirect the account owner, and receive them back in your app. Postmatic refreshes tokens and shows, in the dashboard and the API, when a new authorization is needed.

  3. 03

    Publish, query and receive events

Publish content through the API and configure your webhook to receive publishing events. Metrics and automation flows are coming soon.

CHANNELS

Instagram first. More platforms planned.

We plan to expand Postmatic to other platforms. Available features will depend on each platform’s capabilities and permissions.

TRUST

Your customers' data handled the way it should be.

Privacy policy →
  • Tokens encrypted at rest

Meta tokens are encrypted in the database and never appear in the API or the dashboard.

  • Account connection and monitoring

Meta OAuth, tokens encrypted at rest, and automatic refresh. Each account’s status, including when it needs a new authorization, is available in the dashboard and API.

  • Deletion on request

Meta's data deletion callback and, with automations (coming soon), a route to erase the data of anyone who answered a flow.

  • Third-party data with an expiry

In automations (coming soon), names, text and answers of people who engage will be anonymized after 90 days.

  • No data selling

Data from connected accounts is used only to run your integration.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Before the first call.

Do my customers need to authorize anything?

Yes. Each Instagram account connects through Meta’s OAuth, from your app or the dashboard. It must be a professional or creator account. Postmatic refreshes tokens and shows in the account status, in the dashboard and the API, when the owner needs to authorize again.

Do I need to know how to code?

To integrate with your product, yes: the API is HTTP with JSON and has examples in cURL, Node and Python. The dashboard lets you connect accounts, publish and follow posts without code.

Can I message someone who never talked to the account?

Coming soon. An automation can send an initial private reply to a comment, once per comment and up to seven days after it. To continue, the person must respond; subsequent messages follow the 24-hour window after their latest reply. Outside automations, the messages API only replies to conversations with a prior message from that person.

What happens to the data captured in flows?

Coming soon. They reach your system through the automation.run event and are available in the API. Names, text, and answers are anonymized after 90 days. A route can erase captured data; for a definitive deletion request, pause the automation before using it.

Does Postmatic create the contact in my CRM?

Coming soon. Postmatic delivers the data through an event. Your application receives that event and performs actions such as creating or updating a contact in the CRM.

What happens if a post fails?

You receive post.failed with the error code and message, and can check it in the dashboard or the API. Temporary failures are retried automatically; authorization or content problems require reconnecting the account or fixing the post.

Which channels can I use?

Instagram is the first available channel. LinkedIn, X/Twitter, and TikTok are planned expansion, with no date set.

Will every platform have the same features?

Capabilities vary by platform. We document what each integration supports.

What are the current limits?

Current limits: up to 10 items and 5 accounts per post; captions up to 2,200 characters; Reels up to 15 min and 300 MB (direct upload up to 50 MB); scheduling from 1 minute to 75 days ahead; automation flows (coming soon) with up to 20 nodes.

How much does it cost?

Nothing during the initial phase, with usage limits and no credit card. Plans will be announced before any charge.
